Returning to Pittsburgh after spending 7 years in Massachusetts, Rhonda Tubbs joined the Audiology staff at Pittsburgh Ear Associates in 2002. Dr. Tubbs is a Senior Audiologist and holds the position of Coordinator of the Cochlear Implant Program here at Pittsburgh Ear Associates. Other duties include audiologic, electrophysiologic and balance testing and intraoperative monitoring, as well as seeing patients in the Hearing Aid Center at Pittsburgh Ear Associates. Along with Dr. Garvin, Director of Audiology and Clinical Research, Dr. Tubbs is co-investigator of several FDA Clinical Trials lead by Drs. Chen, Arriaga and Hillman. Dr.Tubbs received her Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2007. She was awarded her Masters of Arts degree in Audiology in 1995, as well as her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Science and disorders in 1993, from the University of Pittsburgh. After completing her Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, in Boston, MA, she became a staff audiologist at the Infirmary for close to 7 years. In addition to being a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology, Dr. Tubbs holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, rooting for the Red Sox and is desperately trying to train her two beagles and one border collie.
