Professional Services

Pittsburgh Ear Associates provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art testing and treatment for individuals with ear diseases, hearing loss, and facial nerve or balance disorders. Tests are performed under the supervision of Douglas A. Chen, M.D., Moises A. Arriaga, M.D., Todd A. Hillman, M.D., and our team of audiologists certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Once your condition has been diagnosed, it may be treated by using one of the latest microsurgical techniques. These include:

* Tympanoplasty (Ear drum replacement)

* Cochlear implant surgery

* Microlaser stapedectomy

* Surgical treatment for dizziness

* Tumor surgery of the ear and skull base

* Facial nerve surgery

If surgery is not appropriate, and you are a candidate for amplification, one of our professional audiologists may fit you with a hearing aid to help you communicate more easily and effectively. With your new hearing aid you will receive special instruction to orient you to amplified sound, a trial usage period, and follow-up counseling. For your convenience, complete hearing aid services - including battery replacement and repairs - as well as assistive listening devices are available at our office. We can also provide you with custom ear protectors for use while working around loud noises or swimming.
